character
somebody found my blog googling "succubus mating pictures." I wish I had a nickel for every time I was asked that question, and I'd like to pay it forward with this.

i (who have nothing)
I was going through old cassette tapes yesterday. I seldom made my own art work for mixtapes but this Tom Jones comp was a rare - and perhaps, sole - exception.

from the filmstrip "the professional studio girl makeup," produced by a Hollywood company that I think sold cosmetics. I don't have the audio for these filmstrips so I don't know what Burt Lancaster had to say about the product line but I'm sure they're a fine American company peddling the best in American-made consumer goods.

whiplash girlchild no. 39
this album was among the spoils from Jackpot Records in Portland, along with a really keen Velvet Underground bootleg that I presume is the acetate somebody found in a Chelsea garage sale for 75 cents; the version of "Venus in furs" sounds almost like an audition for a hootenanny. anyway, I chose this as my first subejct with my new spread: a light stand, swivel-adapter and umbrella that arrived today.and a hastily hashed-out d.i.y. softbox. after 38 tries I almost got rid of the glare. not pictured is the eureka moment where I move the camera at a higher angle above the subject, finally achieving something like perfect light. but I prefer it when you can see the struggle. I'll work on, like, depth, later.

fais-moi mal johnny johnny johnny
The Princess and Johnny Depp templates from the Disney Pix Micro's bundled editing software fit together too well to be a mere coincidence.
yeasty, yeasty, let down your hair
From the Disney Pix Micro (the Pirates of the Carribean model, present background notwithstanding), a $20 bauble which takes 40 lo-res images in a teeny tiny lcd-free plastic cam sans. Not Mac compatible, alas, and I can't get the jpgs from the bundled Disney Pix editor to show up in any program *but* their editor, so screen-caps will have to do until tech support gets back to me.

he asked me if this bus was going to what sounded like "west palms." I said, er, it's going east. he nodded and thanked me and i have no idea what he said but he said a lot of it.
